ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Fullback Andy Janovich will miss the rest of the 2019 season after suffering an elbow injury against the Vikings, Head Coach Vic Fangio announced Monday.

Janovich suffered the injury as he was tackled following a reception in the second quarter. Holding the ball in his left arm, Janovich’s right arm planted in the turf at U.S. Bank Stadium as he fell to the ground.

Fangio said Janovich may need surgery.

Janovich, who signed a three-year contract extension earlier this season, appeared in seven games this season. He suffered a pectoral injury against the Seahawks in the preseason and missed the Broncos’ first three regular-season games.

In addition to clearing running lanes for Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman and contributing on special teams, Janovich tallied five receptions for 42 yards and rushed for a touchdown.

“Jano is a big part of our offense,” Lindsay said Sunday. “… He fixes things, and he makes plays.”

Without Janovich, the Broncos could turn to Andrew Beck, who played fullback in Janovich’s earlier absence.

“Yeah, he’s played there some for us in the past, and when Jano went down he got a quick refresher course on the sideline and went in there and did fine,” Fangio said. “I think he’s very capable.”

Fangio said the Broncos’ offense would not change schematically following Janovich’s injury.
