GREEN BAY – As he's done annually of late, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is once again playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament this weekend in his home state of California, and he's off to a good start.

Paired this year with 29-year-old tour pro Max Homa, Rodgers and his partner began the four-round event by shooting 8-under-par on Thursday, just three shots off the lead and one of the top 20 scores posted on a crowded leaderboard heading into Friday's second round.

The event continues through the weekend and concludes Sunday. Other celebrities participating include actors Ray Romano and Bill Murray, rapper Macklemore, former hockey great Wayne Gretzky, former NFL quarterbacks Tony Romo, Steve Young, and Peyton and Eli Manning, as well as current NFL players Larry Fitzgerald and Matt Ryan.

On Wednesday, Rodgers had one of the shots of the day in the million dollar charity hole-in-one contest. Playing the famous par-3 17th at Pebble Beach, Rodgers put his tee shot just 4 feet, 2 inches from the hole.
