Broncos activate A.J. Bouye, Dre'Mont Jones, DeMarcus Walker from IR to active roster

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have officially activated cornerback A.J. Bouye and defensive ends Dre'Mont Jones and DeMarcus Walker from injured reserve to their active roster, the team announced Saturday.


The Broncos released cornerback De'Vante Bausby in a corresponding roster move. Denver previously had two open spots on its active roster.


Denver's active roster is now again at the 53-player limit.


Bouye was placed on IR after he suffered a shoulder injury in Week 1, while Jones injured his knee and Walker injured his calf in Week 2. Bouye was eligible to be activated for Week 6, but the Broncos chose to wait another week to bring back their No. 1 cornerback. Sunday's game against Kansas City is the first game in which Jones and Walker are able to participate.


Under a new NFL rule, teams can return an unlimited number of players from IR to their active roster, but players must spend at least three games on the reserve list before they can return to play.


Denver also signed veteran defensive lineman Sylvester Williams to their practice squad after releasing Williams on Friday. In his return to the Broncos, he made a key tackle on a New England two-point conversion attempt in his lone game on the active roster.


The Broncos also announced that they will elevate running back Jeremy Cox and LB Nigel Bradham from the practice squad to their game-day roster. Cox was also elevated for the team's Week 6 game in New England, where he played nine special teams snaps. Bradham was elevated for the first time this season.


The NFL's practice squad rules this season permit teams to elevate two players to the active roster on game day, and those players may then revert to the practice squad without being exposed to waivers. If a player is elevated on a third occasion, he must then clear waivers before returning to the practice squad. Cox will meet that two-game limit against the Chiefs.
