ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have added five staff members via the Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Coaching Fellowship, the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship and the team's season-long diversity coaching internship, the team announced Monday.

Jett Modkins (Broncos Diversity Coaching Intern) and Rod Rook-Chungong (scouting fellowship) will serve in their roles with the Broncos for the entire 2020 season. James Daniels IV, Tony Jerod-Eddie and Emily Zaler will work as coaching fellows during training camp.

Modkins, who is the son of Running Backs Coach Curtis Modkins, will help coach the team's offense. He spent the 2019 season as a defensive volunteer coach with Akron University. He played collegiate football at Glendale (Ari.) Community College and Mesa (Ari.) Community College.

Rook-Chungong, a former defensive end at Georgia Tech from 2014-16, spent the last two seasons as a staff assistant for the Yellow Jackets.

Daniels IV, a former running back for the University of Mount Union, coached at the Division I level for Buffalo (2017) and Dayton (2018). The sixth-year coach recently completed his first season as an assistant defensive coach for East Stroudsburg (Pa.) University, which happens to be Head Coach Vic Fangio's alma mater.

Jerod-Eddie is a former NFL player with five years of experience with the San Francisco 49ers. He was previously college teammates with Von Miller at Texas A&M University.

Zaler, who spent 2019-20 as a seasonal assistant for the New York Knicks, has three years of strength and conditioning coaching experience. She will assist the Broncos' strength and conditioning staff, which is led by Loren Landow. Zaler is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

According to the NFL's website, the Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Coaching Fellowship is "designed as a vocational tool to increase the number of full-time NFL minority coaches."

The program aims to give former players and current coaches the opportunity to observe, participate and gain experience in the NFL world. It also helps individuals gain full-time NFL coaching positions.

The Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship, which was created in 2015, gives individuals "a unique glimpse into player personnel by introducing them to various areas related to college and pro scouting within a club."

The fellowship is named in honor of longtime Steelers personnel director Bill Nunn and former NFL player and executive John Wooten.

"The Nunn-Wooten Scouting Program offers a unique opportunity for former players to learn more about this important profession," said Troy Vincent, the NFL's Executive Vice President of Football Operations. "Scouting is a critical function for all NFL teams. Identifying talent and building rosters strategically are keys to every team's success."

The Broncos previously announced in May the hiring of Emily Kuehler as the team's Data Scientist. Kuehler assists the Football Technology and Research Department with data collection and analysis.
