FMIA: Peyton Manning (Remember Him?) Quarterbacks New TV Series, Mulls Long-Term Life After Football (Peter King, Pro Football Talk)

Manning sounds like he sounded so many times in his career, telling a story in intricate detail about why a play worked or what was said in the huddle. I try to think of others who could have done this series, players or former players with cache and a name. Michael Strahan, maybe. Cris Collinsworth. Maybe Tony Romo. But whoever did it would have to be all-in, the way Manning sounds this morning. “I don’t think anyone else could have done this,” said Neil Zender, honchoing the project for NFL Films. “Peyton’s been interested in every detail of every shoot.”

Broncos Position Preview: New defense “tailor-made” fit for linebackers Von Miller, Bradley Chubb (Ryan O'Halloran, The Denver Post)

A common denominator since Fangio entered the NFL in 1986 has been quality linebacker play, starting with the “Dome Patrol” in New Orleans (Sam Mills, Ricky Jackson and Pat Swilling) all the way to last year in Chicago (Khalil Mack and Roquan Smith).

Broncos roster preview: After going from unknown to contributor, can Shelby Harris go from contributor to starter? (Mike Klis, 9NEWS)

He’s been a tremendous story to this point. A seventh-round draft pick who was waived six times – four times by the Raiders, once by the Jets and once by the Cowboys – before finding his home in Denver in 2017 when he had 5.5 sacks and a game-saving blocked field goal in a season-opening win.

Roster analysis: A positional breakdown of what the Broncos may look like in 2019 (Nicki Jhabvala, The Athletic)

f any season has created conviction in a real turnaround for the Broncos, surely it has to be this one. The hiring of longtime defensive coach Vic Fangio has seemed to restore an air of accountability at Dove Valley, while the addition of Rich Scangarello has provided hope of advancement for the offense.
