Vic Fangio undecided on if starters will play again in preseason for Broncos (Ryan O’Halloran, The Denver Post)

Fangio may feel his starters have seen enough preseason game time to be ready for the Sept. 9 opener at Oakland and doesn’t want to add to the Broncos’ lengthy injury list.

The Rams have not played their starters at all in the preseason and aren’t expected to this week.

Health of two key Broncos starters creates uncertainty; Chris Harris Jr. says his role hasn’t changed (Nicki Jhabvala, The Athletic)

The Broncos are sore and sorely in need of help on special teams. And with only five practices and a pair of preseason games remaining, they have little time to solve both problems.

In a lengthy pre-practice address with reporters Wednesday, coach Vic Fangio was peppered with questions about the team’s myriad issues — and some of its bright spots — that now include an injury to backup quarterback Drew Lock, the continued search for a returner and reliable coverage on special teams.

Harris and Bryce Callahan are Denver’s expected starting cornerbacks in the regular-season opener at Oakland. But Callahan has yet to appear in a preseason game due to a lingering foot injury, thus providing increased opportunities for Yiadom and cornerback De’Vante Bausby to prove their worth as reliable third options in coach Vic Fangio’s scheme.
