SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The offense took a little time, but Kyler Murray was, well, Kyler Murray. DeAndre Hopkins was DeAndre Hopkins.

And the Cardinals stunned the San Francisco 49ers, 24-20, in Sunday's season-opener at Levi's Stadium, in front of, well, nobody, as the Cards' season with the coronavirus couldn't have started much better.

Murray finished with 91 yards rushing, including a scintillating 22-yard touchdown scramble to give the Cardinals their first lead of the game. Through the air, he had 230 yards passing, often looking for and finding Hopkins.

Hopkins had a career-best 14 catches, for 151 yards, and his 33-yard catch-and-run set up the Cardinals' game-winning touchdown, a one-yard run by Kenyan Drake.

Defensively, the Cardinals came up with the hold when they needed, with cornerback Byron Murphy breaking up a fourth-down pass with the 49ers driving late in the game.
