CHARLOTTE -- Running back Christian McCaffrey's historic 2019 season has earned him another well-deserved accolade.

The third-year star is heading to his first Pro Bowl after becoming just the third player in NFL history to join the 1,000-1,000 club. And now he's been included (twice) as a first team AP All-Pro selection.

"It means a lot," McCaffrey said when asked about the potential honor. "It is a big honor and that is something that you don’t work hard for it, but when it comes you are really grateful and appreciative."

McCaffrey, who compiled 2,392 yards from scrimmage (third-most all time) and 19 total touchdowns, was the choice at running back and FLEX, a position that was introduced in 2016. Titans running back Derrick Henry was the second team selection at both of those spots.

McCaffrey is the first Panthers running back to be named a first team All-Pro. DeAngelo Williams was a second team All-Pro selection in 2008.

Linebacker Luke Kuechly -- Carolina's only other Pro Bowler this season -- was named to the All-Pro second team. Kuechly has been a first-team honoree five times previously. Below is a complete list of the club's first team All-Pro selections.
