Mike Maser, a respected offensive line coach with over three decades of experience at the college and pro level, passed away at the age of 72.

Maser coached the Panthers’ offensive line from 2003-06, a time in which the franchise made its first Super Bowl appearance (2003) and advanced to another NFC Championship game (2005). Before coming to Carolina, he coached the O-line in Jacksonville. After leaving the Panthers, his final coaching stint was with the Dolphins during the 2008 season.

Maser’s longest coaching tenure was with Boston College, where he worked with the O-line from 1981-93. Maser played guard at the University of Buffalo and he earned his Master’s degree in physical education from Marshall before getting into coaching.
