This year, the educators in our communities have been challenged like never before. The global pandemic has forced teachers to find new and creative ways to reach our students.

As school begins again this fall, FSIoffice and the Carolina Panthers are teaming up again to honor the "Teacher Heroes of COVID-19."

The program aims to recognize teachers who have made extraordinary efforts to educate, inspire and encourage their students.

"The Carolina Panthers are proud to again partner with FSIoffice to recognize outstanding teachers in our region," said Panthers director of community relations Riley Fields. "The value of dedicated teachers has never been more appreciated or understood. Through the FSIoffice Teacher Hero program, the community has the opportunity to help the Panthers and FSIoffice express true gratitude while recognizing the important efforts of our region's educators."

From Aug. 18-Sept. 22, members of the community can nominate teachers that have made a difference through their hard work and dedication. Each week, six nominees will be featured in an online vote for the Teacher Hero of the Week, earning $1,000 in school supplies and a virtual visit from Sir Purr in their classroom.

A Teacher of the Year will be selected from among the weekly winners and will receive an additional $1,000 in school supplies for their classroom.
