EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings (6-3) are going to the “Big D” and looking for a Big W against the Dallas Cowboys on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. (CT).

Here are three notes on the matchup and how to watch or listen to the national broadcast.

Series standings: The game will be the 31st meeting between the franchises in the regular season or postseason. The Vikings are 11-12 in the regular season and 3-4 in playoff contests. The franchises that were granted as expansion teams in 1960 (Dallas began play that year; Minnesota opened in 1961) also met in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for the first preseason game in Vikings history on Aug. 5, 1961.

Second-half teams: Setting aside Sunday when Kansas City scored 16 points in the second half, the Vikings have only allowed 50 total points after halftimes in their eight other games, which is an average of less than a touchdown. Minnesota has outscored foes 96 to 66 after intermissions this season, but Dallas has been even better, racking up 133 points in second halves of its eight games and allowing just 56 total points, which averages out to a touchdown per opponent.

Offense-Defense: Dallas leads the NFL in yards per game (436.8), per play (6.69) and passing yards per play (8.42). Minnesota will face a head coach with an offensive background (Jason Garrett) for the eighth time in 10 games this season and counter with a defense that ranks seventh in yards allowed per game (320.7) and passing yards allowed per play (6.20), as well as 10th in yards allowed per play (5.21).
