Injury Report: CB Bryce Callahan expected to return to practice Tuesday

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Cornerback Bryce Callahan is expected to return to practice Tuesday for the first time since mid-September, Head Coach Vic Fangio said Monday.


Callahan, who the Broncos signed in free agency, has yet to take a snap in a game for Denver. The fifth-year player suffered a foot injury last December, underwent surgery and participated in the Broncos’ offseason program.


Callahan, though, reaggravated the injury during a July training camp practice and was limited in the ensuing weeks.


He underwent a non-surgical procedure on Sept. 25 to try to repair the issue.


Fangio said the team will use Tuesday’s practice to “see where he’s at.”


Safety Will Parks (hand) and defensive end DeMarcus Walker (shoulder) are also expected to practice Tuesday. Parks suffered an injury during the Broncos’ Week 7 game against Kansas City, while Walker missed Denver’s Week 9 win.


Fangio said it is “up in the air” whether tackle Ja’Wuan James will be available for Sunday’s game in Minnesota. James reaggravated a knee injury in Week 8 that had sidelined him since the first half of a Week 1 game.


Tight end Jeff Heuerman (knee), who was injured in Week 8, may practice this week, as well.


Wide receiver Tim Patrick, meanwhile, will continue to practice with the team as the Broncos evaluate whether he’s ready to return from injured reserve.


“He’s going to continue to practice like he was last week, and we’ll make a decision on him later in the week whether to activate him or not,” Fangio said.
