Longtime Bears radio play-by-play announcer Jeff Joniak will be inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame Sept. 25 at Wintrust Arena.


Joniak is also sports director of WBBM Newsradio 780 AM and 105.9 FM. He is entering his 19th season as the Bears’ radio voice. Additionally, Joniak hosts “The Bears Coaches Show” radio program with Bears coach Matt Nagy and co-hosts “Bears Game Day Live” and “Bears Game Night Live” with radio partner Tom Thayer on FOX.


Former Bears defensive lineman Israel Idonije will also be inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame.


Other inductees will include Harold Baines, Lou Holtz, Desmond Howard, Patrick Kane, Mike Magee, Jim Phillips, Rick Sutcliffe and Bryant Young.
