2019 Recap

The Raiders went 7-9 in 2019 under second-year head coach Jon Gruden, who's serving a second stint in the silver and black. It was an improvement from the 4-12 season in Gruden's first year, but the Raiders missed the playoffs yet again after losing five of their last six games. They have been to the postseason just once since 2002.

Quarterback Derek Carr threw for 253.4 yards per game and had a passer rating of 100.8 while running back Josh Jacobs rushed for 1,150 yards and seven rushing touchdowns and ranked third in the NFL with 88.5 rushing yards per game.

Tight end Darren Waller posted 1,145 receiving yards, ranking second among all NFL tight ends.

But the Raiders struggled to get the ball in the end zone. They posted the 11th-most yards per game at 363.7 but were 24th in points at 19.6 per game.

On defense, the Raiders have young but talented edge rushers in Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby. The duo, who headlined general manager Mike Mayock's 2019 draft, combined for 14.5 sacks as rookies.
