Williams fittingly made the announcement on his 38th birthday through a series of videos posted to his social channels.

"The NFL, for me, is done," Williams said. "I feel like I put in my time. I feel like I planted my seeds. Now, I feel like those seeds are going to flourish. I'm ready to go plant some more seeds."

Williams was originally signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2006, but was released before the regular season. He joined Green Bay's practice squad later that season and has also played for the Cleveland Browns (2015-16) and Arizona Cardinals (2017) in his career. He played six games with Baltimore this past year before returning to Green Bay.

"We want to congratulate Tramon, a true pro, on a very successful career that was filled with individual achievements and incredible contributions to team success," said Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst. "He was a talented, humble and hard-working player who was a great teammate both on and off the field. We wish him, his wife, Shantrell, and their family all the best."

Williams took to his Twitter account to thank his family, friends, coaches, teammates, and Packers fans for their support during his improbable journey.
