CHARLOTTE -- The Panthers announced multiple changes to the club’s scouting and football operations staff Thursday, with several experienced members of the front office adding more responsibility entering the 2019 season.

"Just like we evaluate our player roster every year, we evaluate our staff," general manager Marty Hurney said. "We have created a new management structure with three executive directors who report directly to me. Our goal is to have incremental growth and make our entire football operation as competitive as it can be so that we can get any edge to win football games."

Below is the list of changes:

- Mark Carrier, who most recently served as senior advisor to the general manager, has been named executive director of football staff. Carrier spent the final four seasons (1995-98) of his playing career as a member of the Panthers and has worked in Carolina's front office for the past eight seasons.

“Mark is going to work with all facets of our football operation to ensure cohesion among the different departments and football staff,” Hurney said. “His focus will be on making sure that our operations and procedures are as efficient and as seamless as they can be.”

- Rob Rogers has been named executive director of player finance and football research after 10 seasons as the team’s director of football administration. Rogers has been with the Panthers since 1995.

“Rob will continue to handle player finance and contracts, and manage the salary cap, while overseeing a football analytics department that we are in the process of implementing,” Hurney said.

- Jeff Morrow has been named executive director of player personnel. He most recently served as the senior director of college scouting. Morrow is in his 25th season in the NFL and 22nd with the Panthers.

"Jeff will add responsibilities in pro personnel in addition to continuing to be a main part of our college scouting department," Hurney said. "He has more than 20 years of scouting experience, and will lend another voice and another set of eyes to our roster building and evaluation."

- Eric Stokes, in his fourth season with the Panthers, has been named director of college scouting. He originally joined the Panthers in 2016 as a Southwest area scout before being named regional director of college scouting in 2018. He has 20 seasons of playing and scouting experience in the NFL.

“Eric will be involved in all the day-to-day management and scheduling of the college staff as well as continue his role as a key evaluator for us,” Hurney said.

- Chris Herbert has been named director of video. Herbert has worked in Carolina’s video department for 18 seasons, most recently serving as assistant video director.

“Chris has a lot of experience and is ready to manage the department,” Hurney said. “He is a hard worker, he is diligent, he is detailed, and he knows all the facets of the video department.”
