CHARLOTTE -- The Panthers have claimed tight end Temarrick Hemingway, a former sixth-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams back in 2016.

Hemingway, 6-foot-5 and 246 pounds, played in eight games as a rookie. After the Rams released him in 2018, he joined the Broncos' practice squad. Denver later promoted him to the active roster and he played in five games. The Broncos waived the 25-year-old yesterday. He has not yet recorded a catch in a regular season game.

Hemingway, a Loris, S.C. native, played collegiately at South Carolina State, posting 93 catches for 1,056 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Panthers waived tight end Thomas Duarte yesterday. With Hemingway in the fold, the roster stands at 89 players total.
