The third-round pick from BYU, chosen 70th overall, was a consensus All-American for the Cougars last year. His protection was part of the reason quarterback Zach Wilson vaulted to the second overall pick in the draft. He posted PFF's highest-recorded grade for an offensive lineman (96.0), topping the mark set by Oregon's Penei Sewell in 2019..

The 6-foot-6, 305-pounder is a phenomenal athlete (with a 10-foot, 4-inch broad jump at his pro day), and adds the kind of talent the Panthers needed at the position as a whole.

Now, it's a matter of figuring out where he fits. While he was a regular at left tackle in college, the Panthers think he could also play right tackle or guard at this level, and having options on the line is something they value.
