CHARLOTTE — The Panthers can't get enough position versatility, so they found a guy who can fill many roles for them.
With their second third-round pick of the night (83rd overall), the Panthers took Notre Dame tight end Tommy Tremble, a pick which delighted the coaching staff.
The 6-foot-3, 241-pound Tremble was mostly a blocker in college, but has the kind of versatility to play fullback and H-back and do a lot of different things.
The Panthers, as you may have heard, appreciate that. After losing fullback Alex Armah in free agency, had a vacancy for a guy with those kind of diverse skills. They brought in tight end Dan Arnold in free agency, but Tremble gives them a different look.
