The most recent NFL games on Christmas involved a doubleheader in Week 16 of the 2017 NFL season, and the last time that a game was held on a Friday occurred on Christmas Day in 2009.
This marked the first season in NFL history (101 total) in which at least one game was played on every day of the week. This was caused when games earlier this season were rescheduled to Tuesday and Wednesday because of COVID-19. According to NFL Media Research, the NFL had games on six days of the week in 1927 (all but Monday), 1938 (all but Tuesday) and 1948 (all but Tuesday).
