Sayles played the previous two seasons in the CFL as a defensive back for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Alpharetta, Georgia, native originally joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Buffalo in 2017 and spent time on both the Bills and Los Angeles Rams practice squads during his rookie season. After being released by the Rams, Sayles signed with Winnipeg prior to the 2018 campaign. In two seasons with the Blue Bombers, Sayles recorded 136 tackles, 2.0 sacks, five forced fumbles and six interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns.
