The San Francisco 49ers held their final practice ahead of their first exhibition contest against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday. Following Thursday’s session, head coach Kyle Shanahan gave injury updates on several members of the 49ers heading into the preseason opener. Here are the takeaways from the day.

1. Nick Bosa will not be on hand in the preseason after suffering a “significant” ankle injury on Wednesday. Shanahan said the 49ers are hoping for a Week 1 return for the rookie defensive lineman.

2. Jason Verrett, who left practice early on Wednesday as well with an ankle injury, will also miss the preseason, per Shanahan.

3. Jerick McKinnon experienced soreness in his knee following his first two practices since being activated from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. McKinnon will have a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment and is expected to miss at least two weeks. The 49ers are hoping the running back will be available for the regular season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 8. However, Shanahan said the team will “be patient” with his return.

4. Cornerback K’Waun Williams had arthroscopic knee surgery this week. The team is hopeful he’ll be available in time for Week 1 of the regular season.

5. During 11-on-11 work, Deebo Samuel took an end around from Nick Mullens for a 60-yard touchdown. The receiver cut back and found an open lane through the secondary for the score.

6. Rookie linebacker Dre Greenlaw made back-to-back run stops during full team work.

7. Mullens found George Kittle wide open across the middle for a 30-plus yard gain during 11-on-11 drills.

8. During full-team red zone drills, Emmanuel Moseley had a big PBU in the end zone on a pass intended for Kittle. Solomon Thomas brought the pressure on the play.

9. On a pass intended for Trent Taylor, Tarvarius Moore undercut the route and came down with an interception during red zone work. Thomas was also credited for a pressure on the play.
