2. Duck, Duck, Green Duck

Addison is now the third former Oregon Duck on the Vikings roster. He joins receiver Dillon Mitchell, a 2019 draft pick, and running back Tony Brooks-James.

Addison played in 39 games from 2012-15 (he missed 2014 with an ACL injury), totaling 1,937 yards and 20 touchdowns on 146 receptions. He also rushed 21 times for 103 yards and two scores.

In 26 games from 2013-15, Addison returned 32 punts a total of 432 yards (13.5 yards per punt return) and took three back for touchdowns.

His 2015 receiving numbers (63 catches, 804 yards, 10 receiving TDs) were good enough for Second-Team All-Pac-12 honors.

3. Connection to coaches

Despite his production in college and an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine, Addison went undrafted in 2016.

Addison was signed by the Denver Broncos when Vikings Assistant Head Coach/Senior Offensive Advisor Gary Kubiak was still the head coach in the Mile High City. Vikings Offensive Line Coach/Run Game Coordinator Rick Dennison was the offensive coordinator at the time. Quarterbacks coach Klint Kubiak and tight ends coach Brian Pariani were assistants.

Cut during roster reductions, Addison eventually landed in Chicago and suited up the final two games of the season for the Bears.

He logged his only rush attempt (a gain of 4) and reception (11 yards) against the Vikings in the 2016 regular-season finale on Jan. 1, 2017.

4. Converted QB

Addison primarily played QB for the Hightower Hurricanes, completing 134 of 238 attempts for 2,158 yards and 22 touchdowns against just three interceptions as a senior, earning All-State honors.

He was invited to play in the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Game and participated as a receiver, beginning his transition to college.

5. 9 Texans

Addison is one of nine Vikings on the roster who grew up in/played high school football in Texas.

The others are Kris Boyd, Aviante Collins, Austin Cutting, Davion Davis, Holton Hill, Danielle Hunter, David Morgan and Andrew Sendejo.
