Albert Okwuegbunam, Demar Dotson leave #DENvsATL after injuries

Please see below for a timeline of the injury updates from throughout the game.


UPDATE: (11:17 a.m. MST): Noah Fant was questionable to return to the Broncos' Week 9 game against the Falcons early in the first quarter after picking up 32 yards on a catch-and-run down the sideline.


Fant, who missed the Broncos' Week 6 game against the Patriots with an ankle injury, limped off the field after being tackled at the end of the play. It is unclear whether it's the same ankle as the previously injured one. He was not listed on the team's injury report this week.


Fant was seen testing out his ankle on the sideline after getting it re-taped.


The Broncos are already shorthanded at tight end, as the team placed Jake Butt and Andrew Beck on injured reserve in the past 10 days. Nick Vannett is also playing through a foot injury; he was listed as questionable before the game but is active.


UPDATE (11:40 a.m. MST): Fant returned to the field for Denver's second offensive possession.


UPDATE (11:49 a.m. MST): Right tackle Demar Dotson suffered a hip injury during the second quarter and is questionable to return. (Editor's note: Dotson's injury was originally said to be a hip injury, but Fangio said after the game that the injury was to his groin.)


UPDATE (11:55 a.m. MST): Dotson was back in the game on the Broncos' ensuring drive.


UPDATE (12:37 p.m. MST): After halftime, the Broncos' offense took the field with Jake Rodgers at right tackle in Dotson's place. CBS sideline reporter Jay Feely said during the broadcast that Dotson is still listed as questionable to return with the hip injury.


UPDATE (1:09 p.m. MST): Tight end Albert Okwuegbunam left the game in the third quarter after suffering an apparent right knee injury when he was tackled after a 7-yard reception. As trainers rushed to his side, Okwuegbunam held his knee and appeared to wince in severe pain, but he was able to walk off the field to the sideline under his own power without assistance. He later walked to the locker room for further examination.


UPDATE (1:25 p.m. MST): Okwuegbunam has been listed as out for the remainder of the game.


POSTGAME UPDATE: After the game, Head Coach Vic Fangio said he didn't yet have any more details to share on the injuries to Okwuegbunam or Dotson, whose injury was actually to his groin.


"Albert's got the knee injury and Dotson had a groin injury," Fangio said. "I don't think they've determined the severity of either one yet."
