ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have added depth to their linebacking corps.

Denver signed linebacker Peter Kalambayi on Monday, the Broncos announced. The team also waived defensive back Chris Cooper in a corresponding roster move.

Kalambayi, a 2018 sixth-round pick, has appeared in 41 games for Houston over the last three seasons and recorded 33 combined tackles. Kalambayi has played 784 special teams snaps over the last three seasons, according to Pro Football Reference, and he played more than 60 percent of the snaps for that unit in both 2018 and 2019. Kalambayi played 45 percent of the Texans' special teams snaps in just 10 games in 2020.

The 6-foot-3, 254-pound linebacker played his collegiate football at Stanford and is from North Carolina.

Kalambayi wore No. 62 during the Broncos' practice on Monday.
