The Packers took over on their own 36-yard line with 6:36 left in the game right after the defense had forced a Saints three-and-out. QB Aaron Rodgers started the drive with a 23-yard completion to second-year TE Jace Sternberger, and the Packers were across midfield and on the move.
RB Aaron Jones broke off a 19-yard run on the next play, and then after two more Jones runs gained seven yards, the Packers faced a critical third-and-3 from the New Orleans 15-yard line.
Rodgers used his hard count to get the Saints to jump offside, and with the free play he fired to the end zone for Allen Lazard, who drew a defensive pass interference penalty.
That put the ball on the 1-yard line, and it took a few snaps to score – another DPI in the end zone gave another fresh set of downs from inside the 1 – but the Packers finally did on a play-action pass to TE Robert Tonyan to seal the win.
