Cousins and Smiths: Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is delivering the most efficient season of his career. His passer rating of 111.1 is nearly 10 points higher than his previous career best of 101.6 in Washington. Cousins has completed 70.5 percent of his passes for 3,481 yards with 25 touchdowns against five interceptions. His touchdown percentage of 6.1 and interception percentage of 1.2 are on track to be career bests as a starter.
The Vikings will face a Packers team with a pair of quality edge rushers, Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith who were both brought in via free agency this offseason and have made a difference. Cousins teamed with Preston, who leads Green Bay with 11.5 sacks, in D.C. Za’Darius has added 10. The Smiths can bring heat that Cousins and Co. will need to avoid.
Familiar Foe: This will be the 23rd game and 22nd start by Aaron Rodgers against Minnesota. Rodgers has completed 450 of 663 passes for 5,259 yards with 43 touchdowns and six interceptions in the series. The Vikings have sacked Rodgers 66 times, which is 20 more than the next team (Chicago).
