Bears All-Pro safety Eddie Jackson and rookie receiver Riley Ridley will join forces this summer to give back to the community where they grew up.

The two will partner with Ridley’s older brother, Calvin, to host a free football camp in Fort Lauderdale. The “Legends of South Florida” camp will be held from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at Joseph C. Carter Park.

Campers from ages 14-18 will receive instruction from the three NFL players and get the opportunity to compete in a 7-on-7 tournament. Participants will also receive free lunch, a t-shirt and a swag bag.

“That’s where we come from,” Jackson told ChicagoBears.com. “When we were growing up, we really had nobody come back and do that for us. It’s just something to give back to the community. The three of us are kind of close, so we decided to put it together."

Jackson starred as a receiver and defensive back at Boyd H. Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. Selected by the Bears in the fourth round of the 2017 draft out of Alabama, he was named first-team All Pro and voted to his first Pro Bowl last season after recording six interceptions and scoring three defensive touchdowns.

Riley Ridley was chosen by the Bears in the fourth round of this year’s draft out of Georgia. He was in high school when he first met Jackson, who was then teammates with Calvin Ridley at Alabama. Also a receiver, Calvin Ridley is entering his second season with the Atlanta Falcons. Last year as a rookie first-round draft pick, he caught 64 passes for 821 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Riley is excited about returning home to co-host the free football camp.

“For us, it’s giving back to the community,” he said. “You’ve got some really good talent down there. We do it for the kids and the exposure they can get.”
