Defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris on Wednesday signed his one-year contract tender with the Bears.

A restricted free agent because he has fewer than four accrued seasons of NFL experience, Robertson-Harris could have signed an offer sheet with another team after being tendered by the Bears. But the Bears would have had the right to match the offer.

Robertson-Harris originally joined the Bears in 2016 as an undrafted free agent from UTEP. Since missing his rookie year with an illness, he has played in 44 games with seven starts the past three seasons, recording 65 tackles, 7.5 sacks, eight tackles-for-loss, six pass breakups and one forced fumble.

Last season, Robertson-Harris appeared in 15 games with seven starts and ranked second among Bears defensive linemen with 30 tackles, 2.5 sacks and three tackles-for-loss while leading the unit with 10 quarterback hits.
