The Bears on Wednesday signed guard/center Adam Redmond and waived undrafted rookie guard Gage Cervenka.

Redmond has appeared in 18 NFL games, all as a reserve, for the Indianapolis Colts (2017) and Dallas Cowboys (2018 and 2020).

The 6-6, 300-pounder, who turns 27 Wednesday, entered the NFL in 2016 as an undrafted free agent with the Colts from Harvard. He spent part of his rookie year on the practice squad before appearing in the first four games of the 2017 season.

After being waived by the Colts, Redmond was signed to the Buffalo Bills practice squad later in 2017. He then joined the Cowboys in 2018, appearing in a career-high 10 games. He rejoined Dallas in 2020, playing in four games, and was waived by the Cowboys earlier this month.

Redmond has been assigned jersey No. 62, while receiver Chris Lacy, who signed with the Bears Sunday after participating in last weekend's rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, will wear No. 18. In addition, undrafted rookie defensive lineman Thomas Schaffer has switched from No. 62d to 69d.
