The Bears on Friday placed veteran center Cody Whitehair on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The new roster designation was created this year for players who either test positive for COVID-19 or who have been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person.
Whitehair started the first seven games this season before injuring his calf Oct. 26 against the Rams He sat out last Sunday's contest versus the Saints—the first game he's missed in five seasons with the Bears. Had the team practiced Thursday, Whitehair would not have been able to participate due to his calf injury.
