The Vikings also have Kris Boyd, Harrison Hand and Dylan Mabin on the roster, along with Parry Nickerson, who was added earlier this week.

Minnesota added depth to that position after trading former first-round pick Mike Hughes to Kansas City last month.

Breeland spent the past two seasons with Kansas City, helping the Chiefs to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances. Kansas City won Super Bowl LIV, with Breeland snagging a key second-quarter interception in the game.

Breeland has played 101 career NFL games, including 94 in the regular season with 88 starts. He has also appeared in seven playoff games, starting all of them.

A 2014 fourth-round pick out of Clemson by the Washington Football Team, he spent the first four seasons of his career near the nation's capital.

He then spent the 2018 season with the Packers before joining the Chiefs for the past two seasons.

Breeland has 14 career interceptions, including two he has returned for touchdowns. He has recorded multi-interception seasons in six of his seven years in the league.

He has also recorded eight forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries, and delivered a 100-yard fumble return for a score against the Lions in 2019.

According to stats on ProFootballReference.com, Breeland has 376 career tackles (298 solo), 81 career passes defensed, 1.0 sack and 12 tackles for loss.
