Bené Benwikere (6-0, 195), pronounced ben-ay ben-WICK-urr-rhee, joins the Vikings for his sixth NFL season in 2019. Originally drafted in the fifth round (148th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, Benwikere has also spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders, appearing in 54 games (22 starts) and totaling 158 tackles, 25 passes defensed, three interceptions and 1.5 sacks for his career.


The Fontana, California, native posted career highs in both appearances (15) and starts (eight) in 2018, playing in 11 games (eight starts) for Arizona from Weeks 1-13 before finishing the season with four game appearances with Oakland from Weeks 14-17. Benwikere played four collegiate seasons for San Jose State from 2010-13, tying the program record for career interceptions (14) and earning first-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors in 2012.
