GREEN BAY – Former Packers receiver Geronimo Allison is staying in the NFC North after agreeing to terms with the Detroit Lions, the team announced Sunday.
Allison, who signed with Green Bay an undrafted free agent in 2016, caught 89 passes for 1,045 yards and six touchdowns in 46 regular-season games over four seasons with the Packers.
The 6-foot-3, 202-pound receiver got off to a promising start in 2018, catching 20 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns in five games before requiring season-ending surgery to repair a core-muscle injury.
Allison, 26, returned to play in all 16 games last year, but finished with only 34 receptions for 287 yards and two touchdowns.
Allison was one of two Packers receivers eligible to unrestricted free agents this year. The other, veteran Ryan Grant, remains unsigned. Meanwhile, Green Bay is set to return Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Jake Kumerow, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown.
